April Towery is a journalist and the author of Do You Want to Get Well?, a memoir detailing her recovery from alcoholism and her time in a Texas prison. She is committed to using her personal experiences to support women facing addiction and mental health challenges. April also volunteers as the social media coordinator for Minutes Before Six, a nonprofit blog that features essays, artwork, and poetry from incarcerated individuals across the United States.
